How to Succeed in CSC 471

• Start labs early. Reversing is unpredictable; the last hour is never enough.
• Take notes as you go. Screenshot addresses, record hypotheses, log what you tried.
• Snapshot before you detonate. A broken VM should cost you 60 seconds, not an evening.
• Read the assigned chapters. The books answer most "I'm stuck" moments.
• Ask precise questions. "At address X, why does this jump taken?" beats "it doesn't work."
• Be patient and stay curious. Confusion is the normal state of reversing — push through it.
